Noise Source Mapping
We identify noise sources—HVAC, photocopiers, conversation clusters—and rank them by frequency and severity. Open-plan remedies are layered: ceiling absorption, screen height, and behavioural zoning.
Maps are presented as annotated plans rather than abstract decibel charts. Facilities teams use them to place quiet rooms and phone booths strategically.
Material Selection
Absorptive panels, baffles, and carpet tiles are specified with NRC values and fire classifications. Metal deck ceilings may require suspended clouds to reach target reverberation times.
Cost options include economy PET felt, mid-tier mineral wool, and premium timber slats. We model approximate RT60 reduction for each tier.
Partition Strategies
Desk screens are specified with height and opacity matched to desired speech privacy. Full-height partitions are reserved for roles handling confidential telephone conversations.
Demountable walls between offices are coordinated with structural and MEP penetrations. Acoustic flanking paths through ceilings are flagged for contractor detailing.
Phone and Focus Booths
Booth footprints, ventilation, and lighting are specified for one- and two-person units. Electrical and data provisions are shown on power plans to avoid ad-hoc extensions.
Locations avoid placement directly adjacent to trading floors or breakout amplifiers. Maintenance access for filters and lamps is verified with suppliers.
Verification
Design-stage targets are documented for post-occupancy comparison. Optional measurement visits use Class 2 sound meters and standardised office noise profiles.
Remediation packages are scoped if results fall short. We do not guarantee laboratory-grade isolation in fully open plans without enclosed elements.
